I was invited to talk at BOOKED! A Festival of Words book festival in West Dunbartonshire yesterday in a town called Alexandria. We drove from Edinburgh, taking the scenic route and ten miles from our destination got lost: think magnificent scenery, wee winding roads and ‘stress’ and more ‘stress’ and time ticking away! We did eventually find Alexandria and, incredibly, were not late.

Was it worth getting lost? Absolutely! The evening was an overwhelming success. The festival organisers were so helpful and the audience so attentive and interested. I had such a lovely time, it was as if I was with good friends. I especially want to thank Allan Gordon and for inviting me to contribute to “Booked”, and the people of West Dunbartonshire for making me feel so welcome, for asking so many stimulating questions, and for buying so many copies of The Blue Suitcase books ;o)

btw Loch Lomond and the Trossachs is an extremely pretty place to get lost in!
