Detective Sergeant Louisa Townsend is the feisty female protagonist in my new crime thriller, Food of Ghosts, which is set on the tiny coral atoll of South Tarawa, in the Republic of Kiribati. To celebrate the books’s launch on Thursday at Blackwell’s, we’re giving away a signed paperback and a digital e-copy of the thriller. All you have to do to win is answer the following: where in the UK is Detective Sergeant Louisa Townsend’s home? The names of all those who get the right answer will go in a hat on Friday the 9th and two lucky winners will be picked :o) Good luck!
“Set against an exotic backdrop, this thriller has a complex heroine who’s as fragile as she is feisty – and who must tackle culture clashes and family ties as well as crime if she’s to survive…”
Food of Ghosts is a crime thriller set on a tiny coral atoll in the middle of the Pacific, where nothing seems to happen. Then a mutilated body is discovered. Detective Sergeant Louisa Townsend from the UK is on the island at the time. She is asked to lead the murder investigation. She jumps at the chance to be in charge but that’s before she realises there’s no forensics on Tarawa and no one appears to tell the truth. A second body is found and a third death looks suspicious. For the first time in her life Louisa worries she may be out of her depth.
