And The Land Lay Still …

I am in France in a wee village in Charente Maritime for a few weeks holidays with the family. The internet here is very intermittent. So, briefly, before it goes: in between writing the second half of Murder On Tarawa, I am enjoying swimming in the Atlantic and the blue skies and finally reading James Robertson’s And The Land Lay Still.  I bought the hard back when it first came out months ago, but what with one thing another did not find time to read it. I cannot recommend this book enough. It’s what I’d call a BIG BOOK and the writing is wonderful.  If I was half as good – or a quarter as good or even an eighth – a writer, I would be a very happy person indeed :o)
